New Ulm beats Blake School 7-4 as Peterson gets hat trickNew Ulm Civic Center Sat, Jan 12, 2013 Wyatt Peterson netted a hat trick to lead the New Ulm Eagles over the Blake School Bears, 7-4. Peterson got on the scoresheet 12:22 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:52 into the first and at 3:14 into the third.New Ulm racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and three majors for 39 minutes in penalty time. The Eagles had been averaging 10.0 minutes in penalties per game. New Ulm's offense rang up 34 shots on Blake School's net. The Eagles outdid their season average for goals scored. New Ulm averages 3.8 goals per game. The Eagles was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play. New Ulm also got points from Judd Davis, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Blake Neumann, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Brandon Helget also scored for New Ulm. More assists for New Ulm came via Mitch Neid, who had one and Cole Dulas and Alex Stark, who contributed two a piece. The Bears kept New Ulm's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brach Kraus made 55 saves on 59 shots. Blake School got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. The Bears were helped by Johnny Ferguson, who finished with one goal and one assist. Ferguson scored on the power play 7:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Blake School. Blake School had gotten the advantage when the Eagles' Dulas was sent off for interference.
