Providence Academy downs Mound-Westonka in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Jake Braun gave the Providence Academy Lions a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Mound-Westonka Whitehawks when he scored 3:29 into the extra period.

Braun was all over the ice for Providence Academy, as he finished with two goals in the win.

The Lions' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Mound-Westonka power plays. Providence Academy did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Lions put an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game.

Providence Academy additionally got points from Matt Murphy, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Providence Academy were Ryan Tapani, who had three.

Providence Academy was unable to stop Mound-Westonka from sending pucks towards the net, and the Whitehawks eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Mound-Westonka was helped by Ben O Barsky, who racked up one goal. O Barsky scored short handed 13:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mound-Westonka. Mound-Westonka also got a goal from Tanner Palm as well. In addition, Mound-Westonka received assists from Blake Brady and Jeremy Schulz, who contributed one a piece.

The Lions' Nick Pruden stopped 40 shots out of the 42 that he faced. Providence Academy incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Andy Seats rejected 21 shots on goal for the Whitehawks. Mound-Westonka incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
