Mound-Westonka's Ewing deadly on offense in 4-1 win against Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake

Behind a great game by Tommy Ewing, who had two goals, the Mound-Westonka Whitehawks defeated the Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake Moose, 4-1.

Ewing scored at 9:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mound-Westonka and again while 6:26 into the second to make the score 2-0 Mound-Westonka.

Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake was unable to stop Mound-Westonka from sending pucks towards the net, and the Whitehawks eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Mound-Westonka also got a goal from Jack Sterne as well. More assists for Mound-Westonka came via Tanner Palm, Hunter Smith, Jack Brandstetter, Ben O Barsky, and Jeremy Schulz, who each chipped in one.

The Moose managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake ended up below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game. The Moose were held below their usual level of production. Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake averages 3.3 goals per game.

The Moose were led by Robbie Stromme, who scored the team's only goal. Stromme scored 14:44 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Mound-Westonka. Oliver Winsor provided the assist.

Andy Seats made 18 saves for Mound-Westonka on 19 shots. The Whitehawks finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-1 with the man advantage. Darien Jones rejected 27 shots on goal for Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake. The Moose registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
