Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake rolls over Northern Lakes, 4-1

The Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake Moose were firing on all cylinders against the Northern Lakes Lightning, and when the final buzzer sounded Moose emerged with a 4-1 win.

Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake's Darien Jones was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 31 saves and let only one puck past him. Jones managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.65 prior to the game.

The Moose pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 26 penalty minutes.

Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Northern Lakes power plays.

The Moose were helped by McRae Haney, who tallied one goal. Haney scored 2:32 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake. Robbie Stromme picked up the assist. Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake additionally got points from Drew Brockman, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Resse Carstens, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Colton Jones also scored for Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake. In addition, Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake received assists from Tyler Mros and Sam Johnson, who contributed one a piece.

Northern Lakes excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Lightning's offense operated below they season average. Northern Lakes averages 3.8 goals per game. The Lightning's offense rang up 32 shots on Monticello/Annandale/Maple Lake's net.

Oliver Erholtz rejected 18 shots on goal for Northern Lakes. The Lightning incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
