Lindstrom's big game bests Minnehaha Academy in 8-3 Breck School win

Thomas Lindstrom was all over the ice for the Breck School Mustangs, as he tallied one goal and four assists in Breck School's 8-3 win over the Minnehaha Academy Red Hawks.

Lindstrom got on the board by slotting home a goal 11:28 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Breck School. Matt Colford picked up the assist. Lindstrom dished an assist on Jack o'Connor's goal that made the score 1-0 Breck School at 49 seconds into the first period. He then added assists on o'Connor's goal at 11:46 into the second, on Colford's goal at 4:33 into the third, and on Colford's goal at 12:07 into the third.

The Mustangs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Breck School forced Minnehaha Academy goalie Matt Sawyer to work between the pipes, taking 80 shots. The Mustangs surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Breck School averages 5.1 goals per game.

Breck School additionally got points from Colford, who also tallied two goals and three assists to lead the team in points. Mark Sharp also scored for Breck School. Other players who recorded assists for Breck School were Jorgen Salveson, who had two and Lucas McCormick and Derek Wiitala, who contributed one a piece.

The Red Hawks found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 13 shots against the Mustangs' defense.

Minnehaha Academy was helped by Keenan Baynard, who had one goal. Baynard scored 2:52 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Breck School. Josh Radtke assisted on the tally. Minnehaha Academy also got a goal from Ryan Evenson as well. More assists for Minnehaha Academy came via Zach Newton and Ryan Leo, who each chipped in one.

Stephen Headric rejected 10 shots on goal for Breck School. The Mustangs totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Sawyer recorded 72 saves for the Red Hawks. Minnehaha Academy incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
