A stellar performance between the pipes by Caden Flaherty helped the Marshall School Duluth Hilltoppers defeat the Mounds View Mustangs, 3-1.

Marshall School Duluth was paced by Michael Damberg, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Damberg scored 5:13 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Marshall School Duluth.

The Hilltoppers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Mounds View power plays. Mounds View was unable to stop Marshall School Duluth from sending pucks towards the net, and the Hilltoppers eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Connor Flaherty also scored for Marshall School Duluth. More assists for Marshall School Duluth came via Luke Pavelich, who had one.

The Mustangs put 37 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.5 they average per game.

Mounds View was led by Ryan Elvidge, who scored the team's only goal. Elvidge scored 56 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mounds View.

Flaherty rejected 36 shots on goal for Marshall School Duluth. The Hilltoppers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Brandon Smith recorded 29 saves for the Mustangs. Mounds View ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major.
