Marshall downs Windom Area, 2-1

Quinn Horvath grabbed one point to lead the Marshall Tigers to a 2-1 victory over the Windom Area Eagles.

Marshall managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Tigers finished below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. Windom Area was unable to stop Marshall from sending pucks towards the net, and the Tigers eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Andrew Bell also scored for Marshall. In addition, Marshall received assists from Beau Mikel and Corey Clark, who contributed one a piece.

The Eagles did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Windom Area puts an average of 5.3 pucks into the net per game.

The Eagles were led by Mitchell Macek, who scored the team's only goal. Macek scored 1:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Windom Area.

Masion Campion rejected 20 shots on goal for Marshall. The Tigers registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Windom Area's Ben Stubbe stopped 35 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Eagles totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
