Horvath's big game bests Redwood Valley in 5-1 Marshall win

Behind a great game by Quinn Horvath, who had two goals and two assists, the Marshall Tigers defeated the Redwood Valley Cardinals, 5-1.

Horvath found the back of the net 16:38 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Marshall and again while on the power play 2:28 into the third to make the score 5-1 Marshall.

Marshall excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Tigers forced Redwood Valley goalie Jordan Houle to work between the pipes, taking 57 shots.

Marshall additionally got points from Beau Mikel, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Marshall also got a goal from Leo Zerr as well. In addition, Marshall received assists from Andrew Bell, Austin Leek, and Adam McVey, who contributed one a piece.

The Cardinals' offense were handcuffed by Marshall's defensive play, and Redwood Valley managed only 14 shots on goal during the game.

Masion Campion rejected 13 shots on goal for the Tigers. Marshall totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Houle recorded 52 saves for the Cardinals. Redwood Valley incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
