Behind a great game by Neil Nienaber, who had two goals, the Mankato East/Loyola Cougars defeated the Worthington Trojans, 5-2.

Nienaber scored on the power play at 6:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mankato East/Loyola and again while 9:06 into the second to make the score 3-0 Mankato East/Loyola.

Mankato East/Loyola stifled Worthington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Cougars forced the Trojans goalie Rylan Scholtes to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Mankato East/Loyola bested its season scoring average.
