Nienaber scored on the power play at 6:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mankato East/Loyola and again while 9:06 into the second to make the score 3-0 Mankato East/Loyola.Mankato East/Loyola stifled Worthington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Cougars forced the Trojans goalie Rylan Scholtes to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Mankato East/Loyola bested its season scoring average. This season, the Cougars average 2.7 goals per contest. Mankato East/Loyola additionally got points from Alec Schultz, who also racked up one goal and one assist.
