Mankato East/Loyola downs Worthington in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Grayson Gavin gave the Mankato East/Loyola Cougars a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Worthington Trojans when he scored 5:15 into the extra period.

Mankato East/Loyola came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Cougars fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Worthington's Jacob Molden at 12:20 in the third period. Mankato East/Loyola knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Shane Sellner at 15:46 in the third period.

The Cougars were led by Gavin, who finished with one goal.

Mankato East/Loyola also got points from Carter Johnson, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Mankato East/Loyola also got a goal from Alec Schultz as well. In addition, Mankato East/Loyola received assists from Judd Schulz and Logan Lebert, who each chipped in one.

Worthington additionally got points from Andrew Johnson, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Jacob Oberloh also scored for Worthington. More assists for Worthington came via Levi Leach, who had one.

Jeremia Merela made 15 saves for Mankato East/Loyola on 18 shots. The Cougars ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play. The Trojans' Ryan Scholtes stopped 24 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Worthington avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of zero power plays.
