Luverne downs Fairmont, 8-0

Austin Maxwell had one point to lead the Luverne Cardinals to an 8-0 victory over the Fairmont Cardinals.

Luverne's offense rang up 79 shots on Fairmont's net. The Cardinals outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Luverne averages 5.9 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Luverne also got points from Cole Desplinter, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Toby Sengvongxay, who also registered one goal and one assist, Gunnar Olson, who also grabbed two goals and one assist to lead the team in points, and Skyler Wenninger, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Luverne also got a goal from Andrew Verhey as well. Other players who recorded assists for Luverne were Travis Frakes and Matthew Sterrett, who contributed one a piece and Jordan Dingmann and Logan Norman, who each chipped in two.

The Cardinals did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting nine shots on net to force nine saves.
