Little Falls downs Rogers, 5-2Little Falls Exchange Arena Thu, Dec 20, 2012 Ben Newman had one point to lead the Little Falls Flyers to a 5-2 victory over the Rogers Royals. Little Falls kept Rogers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Blake Ternus made 27 saves on 32 shots. The Flyers' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Little Falls additionally got points from Matthew Stumpf, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Jack Schulte, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Austin Bjorge also scored for Little Falls. More assists for Little Falls came via Austin Fenske, Mark Anez, Spencer Fenske, Thomas Miller, and August Maciej, who each chipped in one. The Royals put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Little Falls to score on any of its three power plays. Rogers was helped by Travis Brown, who tallied one goal. Brown scored on the power play 10:16 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Little Falls. The Royals earned a power play opportunity when Newman was put in the box for elbowing. Spencer Marchand provided the assist. Rogers also got points from Marchand, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Rogers were Branden Cecil, who had one and Nate Weber, who had two. Michael Stumpf made 20 saves for the Flyers on 22 shots. Little Falls incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Rogers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
