La Crescent downs Mankato East/Loyola in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Austin DeBoer gave the La Crescent Lancers a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Mankato East/Loyola Cougars when he scored 4:35 into the extra period.

DeBoer had two goals and one assist to lead La Crescent. DeBoer scored the first of his two goals at 4:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 La Crescent. Gage Undahl provided the assist. DeBoer's next tally made the score 5-4 La Crescent with 15:25 left in overtime. The Lancers had taken the advantage when Mankato East/Loyola's Shane Sellner got sent off for interference.

La Crescent kept the Cougars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Will Behsman made 29 saves on 34 shots. The Lancers outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, La Crescent averages 2.6 goals per contest.

Others who scored for La Crescent included Noah Shaw, who had one and Jevin Dorscher, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for La Crescent were Jack Hanno and Justin Paul, who contributed one a piece.

The Lancers were unable to stop Mankato East/Loyola from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cougars eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Mankato East/Loyola was helped by Neil Nienaber, who tallied one goal. Nienaber scored 4:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Mankato East/Loyola. Logan Lebert assisted on the tally. Mankato East/Loyola also got points from Carter Johnson, who also had one goal and one assist and Brent Adams, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Alec Schultz also scored for Mankato East/Loyola. More assists for Mankato East/Loyola came via Brandon Adams, who had one.

Josh DeBoer rejected 39 shots on goal for La Crescent. The Lancers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Cougars incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
