Peterson's hat trick boosts Holy Family Catholic over Hutchinson, 5-0Hutchinson High School Thu, Dec 13, 2012 Jonh Peterson lifted the Holy Family Catholic Fire to a 5-0 victory with a hat trick against the Hutchinson Tigers. Peterson notched his first tally 5:01 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:24 into the third and at 11:18 into the third.Hutchinson's power play was ineffective against Holy Family Catholic's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The the Fire penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and one major for 17 minutes in penalty time. Holy Family Catholic had been averaging 15.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Fire excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Tigers were unable to stop Holy Family Catholic from sending pucks towards the net, and the Fire eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Holy Family Catholic additionally got points from Shane Gersich, who also racked up one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Holy Family Catholic also got a goal from Joey Marooney as well.
