Holy Family Catholic downs Orono, 6-2

Will Garin grabbed two points to lead the Holy Family Catholic Fire to a 6-2 victory over the Orono Spartans.

Holy Family Catholic stifled Orono's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Fire's offense was clicking better than usual and put 44 shots on goal during the game, better than the 2.1 shots per game they average.

Holy Family Catholic additionally got points from Sam Stenson, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and James Sutton, who also registered one goal and one assist. Holy Family Catholic also had goals scored by Dylan Woolf, who had one and Joey Marooney, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Holy Family Catholic were Jonh Peterson, who had one, Matt Runyon, who had three, and Garret Riebling and Ryan Swanson, who contributed two a piece.

The Spartans were helped by Gavin Payne, who had one goal. Payne scored 12:22 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Holy Family Catholic. Jake Flemmer provided the assist. Orono also got a goal from Danny Willson as well. In addition, Orono received assists from Ellis Noerenberg, Alex Gross, and Derek Limesand, who each chipped in one.

Derek LaCombe rejected 23 shots on goal for Holy Family Catholic. The Fire totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. Ryan Breon took the loss and made 17 saves before being replaced by Clay Knutsen who made 21 saves. Orono incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
