Peterson's goals lift Holy Family Catholic to 7-4 victory over Academy of Holy AngelsVictoria Thu, Feb 07, 2013 The Holy Family Catholic Fire relied on the scoring touch of Jonh Peterson, who netted two goals, to beat the Academy of Holy Angels Stars, 7-4. Peterson found the back of the net 1:03 into the second period to make the score 2-2 and again while 6:46 into the second to make the score 4-3 Holy Family Catholic.Holy Family Catholic excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Fire's offense was clicking better than usual and put 38 shots on goal during the game, better than the 3.0 shots per game they average. Holy Family Catholic also got points from Shane Gersich, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Max Mork, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Holy Family Catholic also got a goal from Garret Riebling as well. In addition, Holy Family Catholic received assists from Matt Runyon and Joey Marooney, who contributed one a piece and Billy Bigham, Will Garin, and Ryan Swanson, who each chipped in two. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.
