Grand Rapids downs Marshall School Duluth, 2-0

Avery Peterson finished with one point to lead the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks to a 2-0 victory over the Marshall School Duluth Hilltoppers.

Grand Rapids stifled Marshall School Duluth's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Hilltoppers were unable to stop the Thunderhawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Grand Rapids eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

Connor LaRoque also scored for Grand Rapids. Other players who recorded assists for Grand Rapids were Reid Holum, Cody Mann, and Hunter Mackenhausen, who each chipped in one.

Marshall School Duluth's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Grand Rapids power plays. The Hilltoppers' offense operated below they season average. Marshall School Duluth puts an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game. The Hilltoppers were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 14 penalty minutes.

The Thunderhawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Marshall School Duluth registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
