Peterson leads Grand Rapids over Duluth Denfeld, 5-0

The Grand Rapids Thunderhawks' Avery Peterson had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 5-0 win over the Duluth Denfeld Hunters.

Peterson found the back of the net 13:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Grand Rapids and again while 6:15 into the third to make the score 4-0 Grand Rapids.

Grand Rapids stifled Duluth Denfeld's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The 61 shots that the Thunderhawks put on net surpassed Grand Rapids' average of 3.7 shots per game this season.

Grand Rapids additionally got points from Reid Holum, who also had two goals and one assist and Jake Bischoff, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for Grand Rapids came via Peter Sahlstrom, who had one and Jonah Bischoff, who had two.

The Hunters put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Thunderhawks to score on any of their three power plays. Duluth Denfeld could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Hunters average 4.5 goals per game. Duluth Denfeld put 22 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.1 it averages per game.

Hunter Shepard rejected 22 shots on goal for Grand Rapids. The Thunderhawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Zach Thompson recorded 56 saves for the Hunters. Duluth Denfeld incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
