St. Cloud Tech downs Fergus Falls, 7-3

The St. Cloud Tech Tigers won 7-3 over the Fergus Falls Otters.

St. Cloud Tech managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Tigers wound up below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game. St. Cloud Tech's offense rang up 31 shots on Fergus Falls' net. The Tigers bested their season scoring average. St. Cloud Tech averages 3.5 goals per game.

The Tigers were helped by Justin Oberg, who racked up two goals. Oberg scored the first of his two goals at 15:18 into the second period to make the score 4-1 St. Cloud Tech. Davis Reinholz assisted on the tally. Oberg's next tally made the score 5-2 St. Cloud Tech with 19:41 left in the third period. St. Cloud Tech also got points from Tanner Skaja, who also registered one goal and one assist. St. Cloud Tech also got a goal from Jake Samuelson as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Cloud Tech were Matt Brettingen, who had two.

The Otters were helped by Casey Ward, who finished with one goal. Ward scored 10:37 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Sam Rausch picked up the assist. Austin Hanson also scored for Fergus Falls. More assists for Fergus Falls came via Kyler Peterson, who had two and Joe Nathe, Connor Tarczon, and Jesse Ketonen, who each chipped in one.

Austin Althaus recorded 17 saves for St. Cloud Tech. The Tigers registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Ian Bjorgum rejected 24 shots on goal for Fergus Falls. The Otters incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
