Hauswirth nets hat trick, leads Farmington to 6-4 win over Faribault

A hat trick by Grant Hauswirth was the highlight in Tigers' 6-4 win against the Faribault Falcons.

Hauswirth's first goal came 14:09 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:25 into the third and at 16:05 into the third.

Faribault was unable to stop the Farmington Tigers from sending pucks towards the net, and Farmington eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. The Tigers' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Farmington averages 3.4 goals per contest.

Farmington also got points from Justin Novak, who also had one goal and two assists, Jack Erickson, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Dallas Tucker, who also registered one goal and two assists. In addition, Farmington received assists from Devin Bernu, who had two and Grady Hauswirth, Alex Aubrecht, and Justin Hyytinen, who each chipped in one.

The Falcons' offense were handcuffed by the Tigers' defensive play, and Faribault managed only 14 shots on goal during the game.

The Falcons were led by Logan Murphy, who tallied two goals and one assist. Murphy scored the first of his two goals short handed at 16:26 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Faribault found itself down a man on Riley Jandro's boarding. Daniel Pierce picked up the assist. Murphy's next tally short handed made the score 3-1 Faribault with 10:38 left in the second period. Kyle Quinnell provided the assist. Luke Thom also scored for Faribault. Other players who recorded assists for Faribault were Cody Colegrove, who had one.

Gage Overby recorded 10 saves for Farmington. The Tigers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Falcons' Cody Morsching stopped 37 shots out of the 43 that he faced. Faribault totaled 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors and went 1-for-2 on the power play.
