The Austin Packers tried to dig themselves out of a four-goal hole, but the Faribault Falcons held on for a 4-2 victory.

A goal by Daniel Pierce put Faribault up 4-0 in the third period, but Austin pulled to within two on Marcus Stoulil's tally 9:38 into the third period.

The Falcons forced the Packers goalie Rainer Londino-Green to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. The defensemen of Faribault were also effective in Austin's zone, and came away with four goals.

Faribault additionally got points from Luke Thom, who also registered one goal and two assists. More assists for Faribault came via Evan Jensen, who had one and Connor Wierschem, who had two.

In addition, Austin received assists from Tony Baudler and Dan Larson, who each chipped in one.

Cody Morsching rejected 21 shots on goal for the Falcons. Faribault incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities. Londino-Green recorded 35 saves for the Packers. Austin avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of three power plays.
