Duluth East beats Cloquet Esko Carlton 5-2 as Davidson gets hat trickDuluth Heritage Sports Arena Thu, Dec 13, 2012 The Cloquet Esko Carlton Lumberjacks could not stop the Duluth East Greyhounds' Hogan Davidson, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-2 win. Davidson notched his first tally 4:27 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:40 into the second and at 3:59 into the third.Duluth East excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Ryan Lundgren also scored for Duluth East. More assists for Duluth East came via Alex Trapp, who had one and Brian Bunten, Alex Toscano, and Phil Beaulieu, who each chipped in two. Cloquet Esko Carlton managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Lumberjacks finished below its season average of 6.0 penalty minutes per game. Cloquet Esko Carlton did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Lumberjacks average 6.4 goals per game. The 20 shots that Cloquet Esko Carlton put on net surpassed the Lumberjacks' average of 4.4 shots per game this season. Cloquet Esko Carlton was led by Drew Dincau, who registered one goal and one assist. Dincau scored 9:14 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Cloquet Esko Carlton also got a goal from Weston Michaud as well. Dylan Parker made 18 saves for the Greyhounds on 20 shots. Duluth East incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Justin Ketola rejected 23 shots on goal for the Lumberjacks.
