Muench's big game bests Delano/Rockford in 6-3 Princeton win

The Princeton Tigers' Dan Muench had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-3 win over the Delano/Rockford Tigers.

Muench scored at 10:02 into the second period to make the score 2-2 and again while 15:23 into the third to make the score 5-3 Princeton.

Princeton managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Tigers ended up below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game. Delano/Rockford was unable to stop Princeton from sending pucks towards the net, and the Tigers eventually piled up 45 shots on goal.

Princeton also got points from Collin Buness, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Princeton included A.J. Wesloh, who had one and Cam Paulson, who had two. More assists for Princeton came via Daniel Voce, Jordan Forschen, Joey Stenslie, and Justin Sjoquist, who each chipped in one.

The Tigers were often in penalty trouble, totaling five minors and two majors for 20 minutes in penalty time. Delano/Rockford surpassed its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game. The Tigers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Princeton to score on any of its eight power plays.

Delano/Rockford was led by Eric Ylitalo, who had one goal and one assist. Ylitalo scored 40 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-2 Delano/Rockford. Grant Prinsen assisted on the tally. Delano/Rockford also got a goal from Mike Krueger as well. In addition, Delano/Rockford received assists from Chad Oja, Daniel Keranen, Nick Pogue, and Levi Peterson, who contributed one a piece.

The Tigers' Max Mattson stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Aaron Grangroth recorded 39 saves for the Tigers. Delano/Rockford registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
