Cloquet Esko Carlton hangs on, beats Stillwater 4-2Cloquet Area Recreation Center Sat, Feb 09, 2013 The Cloquet Esko Carlton Lumberjacks took the lead against the Stillwater Ponies in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 4-2 victory. Cloquet Esko Carlton took over the lead for good with a goal by Tanner Robideaux at 6:40 in the first period. Karson Kuhlman provided the assist.The Lumberjacks were paced by Kyle Klatt, who tallied one goal. Klatt scored 1:57 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Cloquet Esko Carlton. Robideaux assisted on the tally. With 40 shots on target during the contest, Cloquet Esko Carlton exceeded the 1.1 shot it averages per game this year. Cloquet Esko Carlton also got points from Robideaux, who also registered one goal and one assist and Kuhlman, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Cloquet Esko Carlton also got a goal from Koby Bender as well. In addition, Cloquet Esko Carlton received assists from Dylan Michaud and Dalton Johnson, who each chipped in one. The 24 shots that Stillwater put on net surpassed the Ponies' average of 0.7 shots per game this season. Stillwater was helped by Nick Anderson, who grabbed one goal. Anderson scored 14:59 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Cloquet Esko Carlton. Payton Hosch picked up the assist. Wyatt Stotts also scored for Stillwater. Cloquet Esko Carlton avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored two goals off of zero power plays. Colton Anderson rejected 36 shots on goal for the Ponies. Stillwater finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-0 with the man advantage.
