Curti nets hat trick, leads Mound-Westonka to 6-3 win over Chaska

The Chaska Hawks could not stop the Mound-Westonka Whitehawks' Charlie Curti, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-3 win.

Curti's first goal came 8:00 into the second period. He then added goals at 10:23 into the third and at 16:36 into the third.

Chaska was unable to stop Mound-Westonka from sending pucks towards the net, and the Whitehawks eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. Mound-Westonka found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Whitehawks have scored at the pace of 2.8 goals per game during the current campaign. Mound-Westonka got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Mound-Westonka additionally got points from Tommy Ewing, who also registered one goal and two assists and Jack Brandstetter, who also had one goal and three assists. Jeremy Schulz also scored for Mound-Westonka. Other players who recorded assists for Mound-Westonka were Hunter Smith and Jack Sterne, who contributed one a piece.

The Hawks forced the Whitehawks goalie Andy Seats to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Chaska was led by Brooks Wineberg, who finished with two goals and one assist. Wineberg scored the first of his two goals at 3:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chaska. Josh Winslow provided the assist. Wineberg's next tally made the score 2-0 Chaska with 6:33 left in the first period. Jake Halsne assisted on the tally. Chaska also got a goal from Cade Gersich as well. More assists for Chaska came via Mitch Kirchoff and Garrett Paulzine, who each chipped in one.

Andy Seats made 28 saves for Mound-Westonka on 31 shots. The Whitehawks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Seth Kinneman rejected 37 shots on goal for the Hawks. Chaska incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
