St. Francis blows out Cambridge/Isanti, 7-1

The St. Francis Saints were firing on all cylinders against the Cambridge/Isanti Bluejackets, and when the final buzzer sounded Saints emerged with a 7-1 win.

St. Francis was led by Cameron Kaehler, who finished with one goal and one assist. Kaehler scored 16:56 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Francis.

The Saints managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. St. Francis wound up below its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game. The Saints kept Cambridge/Isanti's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacob Sibell made 42 saves on 49 shots. St. Francis bested its season scoring average. The Saints average 4.1 goals per game.

St. Francis additionally got points from Zach Foesch, who also tallied one goal and one assist. St. Francis also had goals scored by Jimmy Mayer, who had two and Brett Aldrich, Kyle Wagner, and Aaron Folk, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for St. Francis were Ben Falk, who had three and Tate Blankenship, Carter Hilgers, Ryan Mohar, and Justin Nielsen, who contributed one a piece.

The Bluejackets were led by Elliott Simon, who scored the team's only goal. Simon scored 8:47 into the second period to make the score 3-1 St. Francis. Mike Nolt assisted on the tally.

Darion Hanson rejected 21 shots on goal for St. Francis. The Saints registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Cambridge/Isanti incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
