Rogers pulls away in second, rolls over Cambridge/Isanti, 7-0

The Rogers Royals scored three goals in the second period to pull away from the Cambridge/Isanti Bluejackets and clinch a 7-0 win.

Travis Brown had a great game for Rogers, netting two goals. Brown scored at 15:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Rogers and again while 13:59 into the second to make the score 4-0 Rogers.

The Royals forced Cambridge/Isanti goalie Jacob Sibell to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Rogers bested its season scoring average. The Royals average 3.7 goals per game. Rogers got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Rogers additionally got points from Alexander Lorman, who also registered one goal and one assist, Jason Roberge, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Jake Good, who also had one goal and one assist. Kyle Korva also scored for Rogers. More assists for Rogers came via John Stanley, who had one and Nate Weber, who had three.

The Bluejackets' offense operated below they season average. Cambridge/Isanti puts an average of 2.7 pucks into the net per game.

Blake Ternus rejected 22 shots on goal for the Royals. Rogers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Sibell recorded 33 saves for the Bluejackets. Cambridge/Isanti totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. The Bluejackets ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Elliott Simon was ejected from the game.
