In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Hopkins Royals escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Buffalo Bison.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Jake Myers at 15:42 of the third period.

Hopkins was sparked by Myers, who had one goal.

In a losing effort, Buffalo was led by Jerame Schueltzle, who tallied two goals. Schueltzle scored the first of his two goals at 14:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Buffalo. Jordan Carlson assisted on the tally. Schueltzle's next tally made the score 2-1 Buffalo with 12:06 left in the second period.

The Bison were unable to stop the Royals from sending pucks towards the net, and Hopkins eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Hopkins also got points from Austin Bizal, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Hopkins also got a goal from Max Ostenso as well. More assists for Hopkins came via Ryan Davis, Ryan Kimbrel, Matt Hines, and Tim Weiner, who contributed one a piece.

Sam Dalton recorded 28 saves for the Royals. Hopkins incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Buffalo's Tim Harkness stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Bison incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
