The Duluth Denfeld Hunters took the lead against the Buffalo Bison in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 3-1 victory.

Duluth Denfeld took over the lead for good with a goal by Matthew Mattila at 27 seconds in the first period. Levi Talarico picked up the assist.

The Hunters were led by Trey Opack, who racked up one goal. Opack scored 6:58 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Duluth Denfeld. Talarico provided the assist.

Duluth Denfeld kept Buffalo's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tim Harkness made 29 saves on 32 shots.

Duluth Denfeld also got a goal from Alex Thomspon as well. Other players who recorded assists for Duluth Denfeld were Travis Samuelson and Alex Cowan, who contributed one a piece.

The Bison excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Buffalo was led by Gunnar Goodmanson, who scored the team's only goal. Goodmanson scored 2:22 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Duluth Denfeld. Loren Lindvall assisted on the tally.

Zach Thompson made 19 saves for the Hunters on 20 shots. Duluth Denfeld incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Bison incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
