Breck School takes care of St. Paul Como Park early, wins 10-0

The Breck School Mustangs opened up a five-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 10-0 over the St. Paul Como Park Cougars.

Breck School was sparked by Ben Gleekel, who tallied one goal. Gleekel scored 1:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Breck School. Chase Ellingson assisted on the tally.

The Mustangs featured an improved defense during the game. Breck School allows 2.3 goals per game. St. Paul Como Park was unable to stop the Mustangs from sending pucks towards the net, and Breck School eventually piled up 82 shots on goal. The Mustangs bested their season scoring average. Breck School averages 5.1 goals per game.

Breck School additionally got points from Thomas Lindstrom, who also finished with two goals and two assists, Mark Sharp, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Matt Colford, who also registered one goal and three assists, Michael Orke, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, and Justin Paulson, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Breck School also got a goal from Tyler Lindstrom as well. Other players who recorded assists for Breck School were Derek Wiitala, who had three, Jack O''Connor, who had four, and David Husband, Will Blake, and Parker Montgomery, who contributed one a piece.

The Cougars were held below their usual level of production. St. Paul Como Park puts an average of 4.7 pucks into the net per game. The Cougars did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting eight shots on net to force eight saves.

Stephen Headric recorded eight saves for the Mustangs. Breck School totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Ernie Mantel rejected 72 shots on goal for St. Paul Como Park. The Cougars incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
