St. Cloud Apollo wins tough contest against Bloomington Kennedy, 5-4Bloomington Ice Gardens 1 Sat, Jan 19, 2013 The St. Cloud Apollo Eagles and the Bloomington Kennedy Eagles were evenly matched throughout their contest, but St. Cloud Apollo made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-4. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Brandon Bissett secured the win for the Eagles with a goal in the third period. Paul Kenney had one goal and two assists to lead St. Cloud Apollo. Kenney scored 7:47 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Jared Christen picked up the assist. In a losing effort, Bloomington Kennedy was led by Brad Hinrichs, who registered two goals and one assist. Hinrichs scored the first of his two goals at 10:55 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Michael McCullen provided the assist. Hinrichs' next tally made the score 3-2 Bloomington Kennedy with 8:54 left in the second period. The Eagles' offense rang up 34 shots on the Eagles' net. St. Cloud Apollo capitalized on Bloomington Kennedy's penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage. St. Cloud Apollo also got points from Christen, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Jason Omann, who also had one goal and one assist. Cooper Lynch also scored for St. Cloud Apollo. More assists for St. Cloud Apollo came via Erik Jarosch and Dallas Haugen, who contributed one a piece. Bloomington Kennedy additionally got points from Tait Carlson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Bloomington Kennedy also got a goal from Jacob Roers as well.
