Cossette lifts Providence Academy over Blake School, 4-1

The Providence Academy Lions relied on the scoring touch of Michael Cossette, who netted two goals, to beat the Blake School Bears, 4-1.

Cossette scored on the power play at 47 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Providence Academy and again while one second1 seconds into the third to make the score 2-0 Providence Academy.

Providence Academy was led by goalie Nick Pruden, who finished with 35 saves while allowing one goal. Pruden certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 4.32 entering the contest.

Providence Academy additionally got points from Jake Braun, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Ryan Tapani, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Providence Academy received assists from Ryan Muurphy and Matt Murphy, who contributed one a piece.

Blake School was held below its usual level of production. The Bears average 3.1 goals per game. Blake School forced the Lions goalie Pruden to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Providence Academy ended with no penalties and went 1-for-0 on the power play. The Bears' Joe Santelli stopped 23 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Blake School avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays.
