Matt Ratzloff netted a hat trick to lead the Owatonna Huskies over the Austin Packers, 5-2.

Ratzloff's first goal came 3:13 into the second period. He then added goals at 11:06 into the second and at 14:32 into the third.

Owatonna's penalty kill excelled, as the Huskies gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Owatonna kept Austin's goalie busy throughout the game, and Rainer Londino-Green made 32 saves on 37 shots. The Huskies' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Owatonna finished with 14 penalty minutes.

Owatonna additionally got points from Aaron Kirsch, who also had one goal and one assist. Aaron Peterson also scored for Owatonna. Other players who recorded assists for Owatonna were Soren Colstrup, who had two and Brian Kidd and Collin Bruns, who each chipped in one.

The Packers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Austin was led by Trevor Stevens, who finished with one goal. Stevens scored 2:06 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Owatonna. Adam Maxfield assisted on the tally. Austin also got a goal from Ethan larson as well. More assists for Austin came via Cole Nicol and Tony Baudler, who contributed one a piece.

Luke Ebeling recorded 24 saves for the Huskies. The Packers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
