The Austin Packers gutted out a close 3-2 win against the La Crescent Lancers.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Nick Castellano secured the win for Austin with a goal in the third period.

The Packers were paced by Castellano, who grabbed one goal. Castellano scored 11:56 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Austin. Tony Baudler picked up the assist.

The Austin penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The Packers had been averaging 9.0 minutes in penalties per game. Austin's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five La Crescent power plays. La Crescent was unable to stop the Packers from sending pucks towards the net, and Austin eventually piled up 62 shots on goal.

Austin also got points from Marcus Stoulil, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Austin also got a goal from Dan Larson as well. In addition, Austin received assists from Adam Maxfield, who had one.

The Lancers' offense rang up 32 shots on the Packers' net.

La Crescent was helped by Zack Hanno, who registered one goal. Hanno scored 1:08 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Nick Moser provided the assist. Austin DeBoer also scored for La Crescent. Other players who recorded assists for La Crescent were Jevin Dorscher and Jason Witt, who contributed one a piece.

Rainer Londino-Green made 30 saves for Austin on 32 shots. The Packers registered one goal on three power play opportunities. For Austin, Larson was ejected from the game. Levi Thesing rejected 59 shots on goal for the Lancers. La Crescent ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
