The Alexandria Cardinals and the Sartell-St.Stephen Sabres skate to 2-2 (OT) tie

Sartell-St.Stephen found itself down againt Alexandria, but battled back to secure to a 2-2 (OT) tie.

The Cardinals excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Alexandria's offense rang up 40 shots on the Sabres' net. The Cardinals could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Alexandria was helped by Tom Schmidt, who racked up one goal. Schmidt scored 4:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alexandria. Jack Wensman provided the assist. Toby Helgeson also scored for Alexandria. More assists for Alexandria came via Brady Bast, Ryan Marciniak, and Aaron Steidl, who each chipped in one.

Sartell-St.Stephen was helped by Tyler Minkel, who had one goal. Minkel scored 16:43 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Aaron Randall assisted on the tally. Sartell-St.Stephen also got a goal from Andrew Lindmeier as well. In addition, Sartell-St.Stephen received assists from Kyle Erickson, Austin Stainbrook, and Spencer Zwiener, who contributed one a piece.

The Cardinals' Ben Allen stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Alexandria registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Elliott Brookins made 38 saves for the Sabres on 40 shots. Sartell-St.Stephen incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
