Newman's big game bests Alexandria in 6-0 Little Falls win

Ben Newman was all over the ice for the Little Falls Flyers, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Little Falls' 6-0 win over the Alexandria Cardinals.

Newman's tallies came at 1:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Little Falls and 5:22 into the first to make the score 2-0 Little Falls.

Michael Stumpf frustrated Alexandria's offense all game, and stopped 25 shots en route to a shutout. Stumpf certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.8 entering the contest.

The Cardinals were unable to stop the Flyers from sending pucks towards the net, and Little Falls eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

Little Falls also got points from Austin Bjorge, who also grabbed two goals and two assists to lead the team in points and Mark Anez, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Taylor Drager also scored for Little Falls. Other players who recorded assists for Little Falls were Spencer Fenske, who had three and Nathan Adamietz and Connor Jorgensen, who contributed one a piece.

Alexandria could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Cardinals put an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game.

The Flyers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Ben Allen made 35 saves for Alexandria on 41 shots. The Cardinals totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
