Ryan Marciniak gave the Alexandria Cardinals the lead in the first period, and the Bemidji Lumberjacks was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 4-2.

Alexandria took over the lead for good with a goal by Marciniak at 2:05 in the first period. Levi McFarlane assisted on the tally.

The Cardinals were led by Christian Canavati, who racked up one goal. Canavati scored 4:16 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Alexandria. Patrick Leary picked up the assist.

Alexandria's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Bemidji power plays. Bemidji was unable to stop the Cardinals from sending pucks towards the net, and Alexandria eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Alexandria additionally got points from Jack Wensman, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Tom Schmidt also scored for Alexandria. More assists for Alexandria came via Matt Resch, who had one.

The Lumberjacks were led by Matt Serratore, who tallied one goal and one assist. Serratore scored 16:28 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Alexandria. Mike Sauer assisted on the tally. Bemidji also got a goal from Zach Ponser as well. In addition, Bemidji received assists from Brett Isensee, who had one.

The Cardinals' Ben Allen stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Alexandria incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors and had no power play opportunities. Grant Tharaldson recorded 33 saves for Bemidji.
