Godfrey's hat trick boosts North Star Sirens over Brisbane Goannas, 7-4

Sharna Godfrey lifted North Star Sirens to a 7-4 victory with a hat trick against Brisbane Goannas.

Godfrey's first goal came 5:22 into the second period. He then added goals at 1:34 into the third and at 16:14 into the third.

North Star Sirens' offense was clicking better than usual and put 47 shots on goal during the game, better than the 6.7 shots per game it averages.

North Star Sirens also got points from Amelia Matheson, who also registered one goal and three assists. Others who scored for North Star Sirens included Erin Bow, who had one and Anna Ruut, who had two. In addition, North Star Sirens received assists from Kaylee White, who had three and Remi Harvey and Rachael White, who each chipped in one.

Brisbane Goannas' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four North Star Sirens power plays. By firing 19 shots on goal, Brisbane Goannas exceeded the 4.0 shots it averages per game this year.

Brisbane Goannas was helped by Jo Frankenberger, who tallied one goal. Frankenberger scored 7:02 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Brisbane Goannas. Dannielle Roberts provided the assist. Brisbane Goannas additionally got points from Megan Herlihey, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Michelle Clark-Crumpton, who also had one goal and one assist. Lisa McMahon also scored for Brisbane Goannas. More assists for Brisbane Goannas came via Melinda White, who had two and Tiffany Samain-Venning and Melanie Brogan, who contributed one a piece.

North Star Sirens' Sera Dogramaci stopped 15 shots out of the 19 that she faced. North Star Sirens incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Brisbane Goannas' starting goalie, Hayley White, made 30 saves and finished with the loss before she was taken out in favor of Fiona Jeffrey, who stopped 10 shots. Brisbane Goannas incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
