Twin City downs Michigan, 7-4

The Twin City Steel won 7-4 over the Michigan Mountain Cats.

Twin City kept Michigan's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ian Dvorak made 26 saves on 33 shots. The Steel surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Twin City has scored at the pace of 3.6 goals per game during the current campaign. The Steel's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in five goals.

Twin City was led by Zach Randell, who racked up one goal and two assists. Randell scored 16:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Twin City. Chase Myers-Beck assisted on the tally. Twin City also got points from Isaac Hale, who also registered one goal and two assists, Nicholas Schreiner, who also finished with one goal and one assist, AJ Merritt, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Brody Peterson, who also had one goal and one assist. Twin City also got a goal from Trey Hughes as well. Other players who recorded assists for Twin City were Nick Cerrato, Calvin Miska, Marvin Powell, Sam Gottfredsen, Shane Hill, and Kegan Storjohann, who contributed one a piece.

The Mountain Cats forced the Steel goalie Sawyer Marshall to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Michigan was led by Guy Soulliere, who tallied one goal and two assists. Soulliere scored 13:17 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Michigan. Michigan additionally got points from Alex Kopek, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kade Morrison also scored for Michigan. More assists for Michigan came via Austin Sartorius, who had one.

Marshall recorded 35 saves for Twin City. The Steel incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Mountain Cats incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
