Peoria beats Three Rivers 4-0 as Parda gains shutout

Michael Parda recorded a shutout against the Three Rivers Vengeance as the Peoria Mustangs picked up a 4-0 win.

Peoria was led by Cory Kettler, who racked up one goal and one assist. Kettler scored on the power play 19:44 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Peoria. The Mustangs had gained a power play chance when Justin Von Spreecken was whistled for tripping.

Peoria's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Three Rivers power plays. The Mustangs' defensive effort looked to be improved. Peoria averages 2.8 goals allowed per game. Three Rivers was unable to stop the Mustangs from sending pucks towards the net, and Peoria eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Alexander Turin also scored for Peoria. More assists for Peoria came via Joe Power Wayvon, Kevin Piskie, Connor Millard, and Joe Lampman, who each chipped in one.

The Vengeance racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. Three Rivers surpassed its season average of 27.0 penalty minutes per game. The Vengeance could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Three Rivers averages 3.9 goals per game.

Parda recorded 28 saves for the Mustangs. Peoria totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. The Vengeance's Matthew Erlichman stopped 39 shots out of the 43 that he faced.
