Minnesota downs Metro in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Payton Trammel gave the Minnesota Flying Aces a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Metro Jets when he scored 3:24 into the extra period.

Minnesota was led by Trammel, who registered one goal and one assist.

The Flying Aces made Jets' goaltenders to work without much rest, getting 47 shots and forcing 43 saves. Riley Corbin made 26 stops and Trevor Kalinowski made 17. Minnesota's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Metro power plays.

Minnesota also got points from Mason Wyman, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Minnesota also got a goal from Jared Sprink as well. More assists for Minnesota came via Alec Brandup, Logan Roszel, Patrick Kegley, John May, and Alex Yde, who contributed one a piece.

Metro excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

The Jets were helped by Alex Holm, who grabbed one goal. Holm scored 13:32 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Minnesota. Josh Beleski picked up the assist. Michael Lawrence also scored for Metro. In addition, Metro received assists from Brian Ziola, Myles Burrough, Andrew Palushaj, and Kyle Shreve, who each chipped in one.

The Flying Aces' Jared Stearns stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Minnesota incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Metro incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
