Coenen's hat trick boosts Alexandria over Battle Creek, 7-4

A hat trick by Chayce Coenen was the highlight in Blizzard's 7-4 win against the Battle Creek Revolution.

Coenen's first goal came 10:14 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:53 into the third and at 11:27 into the third.

The Alexandria Blizzard kept Battle Creek's goalie busy throughout the game, and Hughes made 53 saves on 60 shots. Alexandria bested its season scoring average. The Blizzard have scored at the pace of 4.0 goals per game during the current campaign. Alexandria got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. The Blizzard could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Alexandria also got points from Danny Pelzer, who also racked up two goals and two assists and Tanner Duffney, who also registered one goal and two assists. Ian Eckland also scored for Alexandria. Other players who recorded assists for Alexandria were Ricky Seidel, who had two, Garrett Skinner, who had four, and Austin Rudnick, Kyle Kuntz, and Karson Kuntz, who each chipped in one.

The Revolution found themselves short handed often, totaling 24 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays.

Battle Creek was led by Tevor Clark, who had two goals and one assist. Clark scored the first of his two goals at 13:23 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Alexandria. James Romberger assisted on the tally. Clark's next tally made the score 3-2 Battle Creek with 1:03 left in the second period. Kyle Ward provided the assist. Battle Creek additionally got points from Romberger, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Battle Creek also got a goal from Cory Markovich as well. In addition, Battle Creek received assists from Austin Hill, who had two and Jacob Rosek and Zach Rees, who contributed one a piece.

Sam Goetsch made 23 saves for Alexandria on 27 shots. The Revolution registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
