Flint boosted by Franke's play in net, beats Alexandria 3-1

The Flint Jr. Generals relied on the sparkling performance of Anders Franke in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Alexandria Blizzard.

Flint was led by Nicholas Goetel, who tallied one goal. Goetel scored 4:59 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Flint. Andrew Lay assisted on the tally.

The Jr. Generals put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Alexandria to score on any of its four power plays.

Eric Jones also scored for Flint. Other players who recorded assists for Flint were Adrain Larsson, Jacob Peacock, and Jacob Howie, who each chipped in one.

The Blizzard's offense operated below they season average. Alexandria puts an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game. Flint was unable to stop the Blizzard from sending pucks towards the net, and Alexandria eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

The Blizzard were led by Ian Eckland, who scored the team's only goal. Eckland scored 37 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alexandria. Kyle Kuntz provided the assist.

Franke rejected 34 shots on goal for the Jr. Generals. Flint incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Dom DeGuisseppi recorded 23 saves for Alexandria. The Blizzard incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
