Corbin leads Metro to shutout victory over Queen City

Riley Corbin was superb between the pipes for the Metro Jets, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the Queen City Steam.

Metro was sparked by Kyle Shreve, who racked up one goal and one assist. Shreve scored 8:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Metro. TJ Krajewski provided the assist.

The Jets stifled Queen City's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Thomas Evans also scored for Metro. In addition, Metro received assists from Michael Lawrence, who had two and Zach Mac Kay and Josh Beleski, who each chipped in one.

The Steam put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Metro to score on any of its four power plays. Queen City's offense operated below it season average. The Steam put an average of 2.6 pucks into the net per game. Queen City forced the Jets goalie Corbin to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Corbin rejected 31 shots on goal for Metro. The Jets incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Alec Rounds made 23 saves for the Steam on 26 shots. Queen City incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
