Battle Creek outlasts Twin City, 6-4

The Battle Creek Revolution gutted out a close 6-4 win against the Twin City Steel.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Jack Iandoli at 16:17 of the third period.

Joey Lioy was all over the ice for Battle Creek, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Lioy scored the first of his two goals at 3:07 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Derek Dodge picked up the assist. Lioy's next tally made the score 4-4 with 12:34 left in the third period. Dodge assisted on the tally.

Twin City was unable to stop the Revolution from sending pucks towards the net, and Battle Creek eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. The Revolution surpassed their usual scoring output this season. This season, Battle Creek averages 2.3 goals per contest.

Battle Creek also got a goal from Austin Hill as well. Other players who recorded assists for Battle Creek were Austin Maynard, who had two, Kyle Ward, who had three, and Eric Tucker, Joshua Kimber, Cory Markovich, and Zach Rees, who contributed one a piece.

The Steel's offense rang up 41 shots on the Revolution's net.

Twin City was helped by Brody Peterson, who finished with one goal. Peterson scored 40 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Twin City. Kegan Storjohann picked up the assist. Twin City additionally got points from Nick Cerrato, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Chase Myers-Beck, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Tom Bartel also scored for Twin City. In addition, Twin City received assists from Trey Hughes, Evan Anderson, and Ryan McAloon, who each chipped in one.

Hughes made 37 saves for Battle Creek on 41 shots. The Revolution incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Sawyer Marshall recorded 28 saves for the Steel. Twin City incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
