Cleveland blows out Quad City, 11-1Schwan SR-7 Sun, Dec 02, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks were firing on all cylinders against the Quad City Jr. Flames, and when the final buzzer sounded Jr. Lumberjacks emerged with an 11-1 win. Cameron Dimmitt was all over the ice for Cleveland, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Dimmitt scored the first of his two goals at 4:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cleveland. Scott Cuthrell provided the assist. Dimmitt's next tally made the score 3-0 Cleveland with 6:03 left in the first period. Fred West assisted on the tally. The Jr. Lumberjacks made Quad City's goalies to work between the pipes, racking up 59 shots and forcing 48 saves. Brandon Perillo made 15 stops and Jake Leon made 33. Cleveland outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Jr. Lumberjacks average 4.8 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Cleveland also got points from Cuthrell, who also had one goal and two assists, Louis Sawchik, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Toms Taurins, who also had two goals and one assist, and Nick Balavich, who also registered two goals and one assist. Cleveland also had goals scored by Andrew Mitch, who had one and Brad Hepler, who had two. More assists for Cleveland came via Jake Roeper, who had three, Jake Green and Ryan Wandzel, who contributed one a piece, and Mike Palasics, Kyle DeVault, Jared Johnson, and Dallas Szustak, who each chipped in two. Peter Coppola also scored for Quad City. In addition, Quad City received assists from Clayton Janecke and Anthony Caroselli, who contributed one a piece. Joseph Moza recorded 23 saves for Cleveland. The Jr. Lumberjacks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Jr. Flames incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. |
