Twin City boosted by Marshall's play in net, beats Cleveland 4-1

The Twin City Steel relied on the sparkling performance of Sawyer Marshall in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks.

Twin City was sparked by Ryan McAloon, who finished with one goal and one assist. McAloon scored 15:20 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Twin City. Tom Bartel provided the assist.

The Steel stifled Cleveland's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Twin City also got points from Trey Hughes, who also registered one goal and one assist and Brody Peterson, who also had one goal and one assist. Twin City also got a goal from Kegan Storjohann as well. More assists for Twin City came via Noah Anderson, who had one and Sam Gottfredsen, who had two.

The Jr. Lumberjacks were held below their usual level of production. Cleveland puts an average of 4.8 pucks into the net per game. The Jr. Lumberjacks forced Twin City goalie Marshall to work between the pipes, taking 55 shots.

Cleveland was led by Scott Cuthrell, who scored the team's only goal. Cuthrell scored 11:52 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Twin City. Fred West assisted on the tally.

The Steel's Marshall stopped 54 shots out of the 55 that he faced. Twin City incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors. For the Steel, McAloon was ejected from the game. David Heflin made 25 saves for the Jr. Lumberjacks on 29 shots. Cleveland incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
