Queen City survives Michigan comeback, wins 4-2

The Michigan Mountain Cats tried to dig themselves out of a four-goal hole, but the Queen City Steam held on for a 4-2 victory.

Queen City took a 4-0 lead during the second period, only to have Michigan storm back on a Marshall Helton goal 18:30 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

Lucas McCammant had one goal and two assists to lead the Steam. McCammant scored 7:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Queen City. Devin Fracassi assisted on the tally.

Queen City's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Michigan power plays. The Steam's offense rang up 36 shots on the Mountain Cats' net.

Queen City additionally got points from Henry Smith, who also had one goal and one assist. Queen City also got a goal from Stephen Pack as well.

Michigan stifled Queen City's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Mountain Cats kept the Steam's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt McLaughlin made 34 saves on 36 shots.

Guy Soulliere also scored for Michigan. In addition, Michigan received assists from John Arms, Derek Ried, and Alex Kopek, who each chipped in one.

Queen City incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Spencer Craig made 32 saves for Michigan on 36 shots. The Mountain Cats incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
