Minnesota rips Quad City, 4-1

The Minnesota Flying Aces had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Quad City Jr. Flames.

Minnesota's Allen Patten was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 27 saves and let only one puck past him. Patten managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 4.24 prior to the game.

The Flying Aces were led by Jared Sprink, who grabbed one goal. Sprink scored on the power play 17:24 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Minnesota. Minnesota earned a power play opportunity when Zach Turner was put in the box for tripping. Alex Yde picked up the assist.

The Flying Aces forced Quad City's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 32 shots and forcing 28 saves. Jake Leon made six stops and Brandon Perillo made 22. Minnesota stifled the Jr. Flames' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Others who scored for Minnesota included Chase Myers-Beck, who had one and Andre Pison, who had two. In addition, Minnesota received assists from Billy Wagner, Alec Brandup, Joe Miller, Dylan Nelson, Payton Trammel, and Blake Williams, who contributed one a piece.

Quad City struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Flying Aces to score two power play goals on three chances.

Quad City also got a goal from Harley Manus as well. More assists for Quad City came via Luke Dickinson and Jake Wynd, who each chipped in one.

Minnesota incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Jr. Flames incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
