Farmingdale State blows out Southern Connecticut, 7-2

The Farmingdale State Rams had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over the Southern Connecticut Owls.

Mike Leprine was all over the ice for Farmingdale State, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Leprine scored 17:49 into the third period to make the score 7-2 Farmingdale State. Joe Mione assisted on the tally.

The Rams' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Southern Connecticut power plays. Southern Connecticut was unable to stop Farmingdale State from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rams eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Farmingdale State surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Rams average 4.9 goals per game. Farmingdale State got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed four goals during the game.

Farmingdale State additionally got points from Menicino John, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Farmingdale State also had goals scored by Mark DeBernardo, who had two and Jack Radin, Scott Brennan, and Alex Conover, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Farmingdale State were Kyle McEvaddy, Joseph Schellderfer, EJ Grunwald, Matthew Johnson, and Kyle Catalano, who each chipped in one.

The Owls stifled the Rams' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Southern Connecticut was helped by Joe Innamorato, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Innamorato scored 10:40 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Farmingdale State. Steven Rosenkrantz picked up the assist. Dylan Gillis also scored for Southern Connecticut.

Farmingdale State's Austin Liddycoat stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Rams incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mike Santini rejected 26 shots on goal for the Owls. Southern Connecticut incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
